College Application Week is a annual event during which some, but not all, NC colleges and universities choose to waive their application fees. Even if a college decides to waive their application fee, it might not be for every student status, such as new student, transfer, readmit, or out-of-state.
Here are three tips:
- See if your college is waiving application fees and if you meet the criteria by checking the list of participating colleges on the NC Countdown to College section of CFNC.org or by contacting the college directly.
- Be sure you're starting in the CFNC Application Hub. The college might not be waiving their application fee on all of their application platforms, and the CFNC Application Hub will lead you to the correct one.
- If you've done steps 1 and 2, and you are still being charged an application fee when it seems you shouldn't be, reach out to CFNC (see contact information below) if the application is through CFNC.org, or to the college, if the application is not through CFNC.org.
